Carré has one of the most attractive theatre auditoriums in the Netherlands, with a rich history. In 2004 a decision was taken to start a comprehensive renovation, whereby the authentic historic character of Carré would be retained.
The auditorium with 1756 seats, divided over stalls, parterre, boxes, the balcony and the gallery, is suitable for business events, award shows, company parties and premieres.
In the past, the Loge Foyer, located on the first floor, served as living quarters of Oscar Carré and his family. The historic location is a magnificent space with stature. With its large mirrors, chandeliers, original style details and balcony, the foyer is a fantastic sight to behold. From the balcony there is a fantastic view across the 'Magere Brug' bridge and the busy Amstel river and it is extremely suitable for various events such as receptions, presentations and company parties.
